Custom product bought now I want to mass produce it. Can I?

Users questions:I am in the remote control truck business here in the US. I have just bought a remote control truck plastic shell or body from a one man custom builder that builds them for a hobby. The body I bought is completely hand made and there isn't one like it it was built to my specifications,but I have now had it for a while for personal use and now think it would be a great product to put on the market. The only thing is I don't know if I can because I did not build it and don't know if the guy that sold it to me can legally sue me in anyway?
